My research seeks to enhance our understanding of language and communication, focussing on pragmatics and its interfaces with syntax and pragmatics. Recently, I have been pursuing several topics, including:

1. The syntax/semantics/pragmatics of placeholders in the world’s languages
2. Modelling of case and rightward displacements in Japanese
